Expecting moms get a glimpse of their babies for the first time

Our antenatal services keep getting more and more specialised – and it’s so encouraging to see our Nomadic Healthcare Team’s ambition to learn and improve our services.

Nurse Dorcas recently dedicated three days to work alongside Samburu County’s sonographer, Mr. Ghino Lororua, who enlightened her about various aspects of the first trimester through sonograms – including determining expected delivery dates and the genders of babies in advance!

32 pregnant women received sonograms – and it was truly special to witness their excitement when they found out their delivery dates, and whether their babies are boys or girls! It’s also hugely helpful for mothers with at-risk pregnancies – who can now plan when they should travel to the hospital for their deliveries.

Altogether, it was excellent preparation for Nurse Dorcas to do these scans with our brand-new ultrasound device, which was donated by generous benefactors. We extend our sincere thanks to Ghino, who graciously offered his time and equipment to help us enhance our antenatal care, and to Nurse Dorcas – for her unwavering commitment.
